The challenge of the ultimate mountain
A staggering elevation of more than 1,900 metres will have to be surmounted to win the race starting in St. Niklaus at 1,085 metres above sea level, up to the world-famous resort of Zermatt (1,616 m.a.s.l.), and finishing on Riffelberg, towering 2,585 metres above sea level amidst 29 four-thousand-meter summits. An immensity of wild nature along this marathon course of 42.195 kilometres awaits discovery.
